
Natural Water Retention Measures (NWRM) is a term which encapsulates a range of structures designed to restore and enhance rivers’ natural capacity to reduce flood peaks and enhance water quality. This site shares the knowledge and current projects about the implementation NWRM in Ireland.
SloWaters project
A research project funded by the EPA and the OPW. The research will assess the benefits of Natural Water Retention Measures (NWRM) for agricultural catchments by assessing two demonstration sites and two assessments sites in Ireland.
